- United Way's Vision
United Way of Monroe County believes that
- Everyone should have sufficient food.
Everyone should have a safe place to live. Everyone should have access to basic health care. People in crisis should have access to emergency services. Children and youth should have the opportunity to grow and
prosper. Everyone should have the skills and support to enter and stay
in the workforce. Seniors should be supported in their efforts to be
independent.
- Mission
To accomplish this vision
- Our mission is to improve
people's lives by mobilizing the caring power of our
community. We address critical needs today and work to
reduce those needs tomorrow.
- Values
In fulfilling its mission, United Way will
- Operate in a manner that is consistent with our values of
honesty, diversity, public service, and respect for the
individual.
Inspire trust in our organization by adhering to the highest
professional standards of accountability and stewardship. Serve as leaders in our community and our profession. Be committed to sustained improvements in the local quality of
life.
- Goals
United Way will accomplish this mission by
- Increasing financial, material, and volunteer resources.
Identifying, evaluating, and communicating service needs
within our community, and acting as a catalyst to meet those
needs. Encouraging efficient and effective collaboration among social
service agencies. Supporting quality programs, information, and services. Providing information, referral, and training opportunities.
